Dance
Discover the timeless beauty and elegance of ballet with our exclusive high-end sculptures, meticulously crafted to capture the delicate yet powerful form of a dancer’s feet.
A dancer’s body is a masterpiece of fluidity and strength, a living sculpture in constant motion. The exquisite balance, delicate tension, and breathtaking precision of every movement and stretch reveal not just the physical, but the emotional depths of the performer. Masters & Munn seek to preserve this fleeting beauty in high-end, bespoke sculptures that celebrate the art of dance in all its elegance.
Dancers are not only extraordinary athletes; they are storytellers, using their bodies to express what words cannot. The curve of an arm, the extension of a fingertip or power in pointed toes—each movement carries emotion, narrative, and soul. By capturing these moments in sculpture, we honour the dancer’s artistry and elevate the power of human expression. Whether rendered in stone, bronze, glass, or other fine materials, each piece immortalizes the dancer’s elegance, strength, and discipline.
Even many decades after her last ballet class at Doreen Bird’s (now known as Birds College), CJ Munn still remembers the ingrained repetitive motions of practice, and the ecstatic feeling of putting that hard work into creative expression on the stage. Her prized possession of a pair of pointe shoes owned by former Royal Ballet Company Prima Ballerina, Leslie Collier, forms part of the inspiration for this growing collection of work by Masters & Munn, inspired by and collaborating with dancers.
We begin this collection focusing on a dancer’s most important tool - their feet. Like a sculptor’s hands, the feet of a dancer show the years of toil, repetition and determination to overcome pain, to master their art.
We have worked with members of the Royal Ballet Company and other talented professionals to create these initial sculptures, some of which are available for sale in a range of beautiful materials.
Other private commissions included here are one-offs, and were created to celebrate milestones in each dancer’s life and career, such as Penelope’s beautiful story in the video on this page.
We welcome opportunities to work with other dancers, who we have always felt made the best possible lifecast and sculpture models due to their incredible ability to understand how the most subtle change in their position can affect a pose enormously, along with their discipline to override any temporary discomfort in holding such a pose for the time it takes to capture it.
For the dancer, owning a sculpture of their own body is a profound way to honour their artistry and devotion to the craft.
This highly detailed representation, whether in a graceful extension or a relaxed pose, serves as a lasting tribute to the physicality and beauty of their performance. It’s an artistic expression that reflects the years of training, sacrifice, and artistry that shape a dancer’s journey - an emblem of their passion.
Masters & Munn can create bespoke casts and sculptures of larger body parts or even full bodies to capture the illusion of a body in graceful motion or dynamic pose.

For fans of dance, a sculpture of the ballet dancer’s feet or body offers a tangible connection to the art form. These pieces encapsulate the very essence of ballet: the fleeting moments of beauty, the grace of movement, and the extraordinary athleticism hidden beneath the surface of a seemingly delicate performance.
The quality of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and timeless elegance make these sculptures more than just art—they are heirlooms, destined to be passed down through generations as a lasting legacy of ballet’s finest traditions.
We are in the process of expanding this collection of work based on the dancer’s body and welcome enquiries from professional dancers who might be interested in collaborating with us in the future. Similarly, we welcome commissions from institutions or individuals looking for just the right piece of dance-inspired fine art for your venue or home.
