‘In his arms’ - available for immediate purchase - £6500
The most ambitious and detailed of our engraved sculptures to date, ‘In his arms’ was initially created for display at Leeds Castle, when Masters & Munn were invited to be guest artists for the Sculpture Safari art trail.
Cast from our model, the singer/songwriter/dancer Caleb Kunle, ‘In his arms’ is a unique variation of our original ‘Hero I’ sculpture and is made from cold-cast aluminium with many days of freehand engraving work depicting an incredible octopus that cradles and caresses the sculpture in its eight long, sensual tentacles.
“We love to explore the close connections between humankind and the natural world, of which we so often forget we are a part. Cross-culturally, tattoos are one of the earliest forms of personal expression, and often include animal totems - suggesting the desire to take on personality traits or symbolic traits of particular animals - to become one with the essence of the animal.
This piece speaks of the important relationship of man with water, essential to our survival; and the incredible strength, remarkable intelligence, dexterity and mystery of the mighty octopus - all very desirable traits in a mate of any species.
The rippling muscles on the male body in this gorgeous aluminium finish are reminiscent of the waves of the sea where the octopus makes its home.”
‘In his arms’ can be displayed indoors or outside, and its dimensions are approximately 60 x 67 x 20 cm. It is available for £6500 including delivery to London and the English Home Counties. Please send us your address for an estimate of delivery charges for further afield.
